

World War II Japanese Army Officer´s Shin-Gunto
The 26 7/8" blade has a gray tang having a single hole and inscriptions on both sides. The tang also has a Showa stamp and an unidentified "Kakihan" (personal seal of the swordsmith). The bright blade has a strong billowing temper line and minor tarnish with a little freckling. The hilt is of standard pattern with brown cloth tape over white rayskin and a solid brass tsuba with cherry blossoms. The rayskin has a split but the hilt overall rates fine. The civilian style wood scabbard retains 95% black enamel and has three inscribed Japanese characters. The sword lacks about 1/2" from fully seating in the scabbard.

This has a 26" blade with a dark gray tang having a single hole and an inscription on one side. The spine of the tang is numbered "689". The blade is bright and has a strong wavy temper line that is indistinct at the tip. The tip has been polishes and at midpoint on the blade edge are two 2/8" long section with miniscule chips. The hilt is of standard pattern with tan cloth tape over white rayskin and a solid brass tsuba with cherry blossoms. The hilt is in excellent condition, as is the metal scabbard which retains 95% of the olive drab paint. A wood "surrender tag" with painted Japanese characters is affixed to the scabbard.

This has a 26" blade with a dark gray tang having a single hole and an inscription on both sides. The bright blade has been cleaned and has a little very faint pitting with no discernable temper line. The hilt is of standard pattern with brown cloth tape over white rayskin and a solid brass tsuba with cherry blossoms. The rayskin has a couple of cracks and the hilt rates fine overall. The metal scabbard has a hole and a shallow dent near the tip, it retains 95+% olive drab paint. A company grade officer's sword tassel in very good condition is affixed to the hilt.

American Eaglehead Artillery Officer's Saber
The 28 3/4" curved blade is blued on the upper half with gilded etchings of floral scrolls, a large martial panoply, an American eagle with shield, and the name of an American retailer "J. C. DYER/BOSTON". The gilded brass hilt has a well defined eaglehead and a full backstrap. The reverse "P" knucklebow is pierced, as is the counterguard on the obverse side. The ivory grip is bound with strands of brass wire. The blade retains 80% bright blue and about 40% of the gilding. The lower half of the blade still has a good deal of original bright polish with large patches of pitting, the upper half of the blade with scattered spots of corrosion. The grip has age cracks, several large chips at the pommel, and has most of the wire binding. The knucklebow is broken and both of the loose pieces are included. The hilt retains about 50% of the gilding. Made about 1820, no scabbard.

World War II Japanese Army Officer´s Shin-Gunto in Civilian Mounts
This has a 26 3/4" blade with a dark gray tang having a small hole and an inscription on both sides in addition to a Showa stamp. The blade is bright and has a straight temper line that is a little light. The hilt has dark blue cloth tape over white rayskin and a dark iron circular tsuba with two piercings. The brown lacquered wood scabbard has a black leather combat cover. The leather shows a couple of small tears and rates very good overall, as does the hilt.

First Model German Luftwaffe Dress Dagger
The 12 1/8" blade is bright and unmarked. The dagger and scabbard have polished aluminum fittings with blue leather covering the grip and scabbard body. The blade is bright and in excellent condition, the hilt and scabbard are in fine condition with several small scuffs on the leather. An aluminum double chain suspension hanger with a "GES. GESCH./ OLC (in a diamond)" marked belt clip is included.

This has a 25 7/8" blade with a dark gray tang having a single hole and an inscription on one side. The blade has a discernible straight temper line that is not visible for 6" at the tip. The bright blade has several edge nicks and has fine to light pitting for about 5" at the tip. The hilt is of standard pattern with brown cloth tape over white rayskin and a solid brass tsuba with cherry blossoms. The scabbard retaining button has been removed from the hilt and one of the seppa is a modern replacement. The hilt is in very good condition with some cracks in the rayskin. The metal scabbard has several small dents and has moderate wear on the dark green paint.
